Laboratories - Applied PHYSics Laboratory

In the PHYS Lab, studies on materials by electron and optical spectroscopies are carried out along with studies on bulk materials and thin film. The lab is equipped for the characterization of transport phenomena versus temperature in the range 15-500 K by Hall effect, TSC, SCLC, in a controlled atmophere.

The optical absorption processes and the anelastic scattering of materials by reflectance and transmission spectroscopies in the UV-Vis-NIR range are investigated also by polarized radiation and Raman spectroscopies.

Head of the laboratory is Prof. Antonio Serra.

The scientific equipments for research and training include:

Thin film deposition system

System for the electric characterization on materials

Sistem for the characterization by UV-Vis-NIR radiation, Raman and atomic absorption
