In the CLIA Lab the chemical preparation of organic and inorganic materials for stable and radioactive isotope analysis is carried out. Chemical and physical treatments must be performed to remove the contamination into the sample, to transform the solid sample in carbon dioxide and graphite for the following analysis.

The lab is equipped with optical microscopes for preliminary observations of the samples, with facilities for the pre and post combustion processes and for the reduction of the gas into graphite. Precision balances, sistems for the purification of water and the extraction of carbon dioxide from liquid samples are available into the lab.
